Today, we decided it is time to move into the 21st century and to document our travels the modern way.
So out with the photo albums..............................
in with the BLOG, and what better time than on this our grandest most challenging adventure to date, AGULHAS TO ADDIS '09.
It all started, as these things do, sitting around a crackling fire, schnapps in hand somewhere in Africa with Uli, Anka, Jimmy & Kinnie, when someone said our next trip should be Cape to Cairo. Well days, weeks and months have passed and here we are, one week away from the Bahmanns departure from the most southerly point of Africa, L'Agulhas. We are flying to Cape Town to witness the event on the 2 June 09. U & A will be heading via Northern Zululand , Mozambique and then on to our meeting point at Iringa in Southern Tanzania.
We on the other hand , other than packing in a 10 day trip to the Cape and the send off, still need to do a million things before our departure on the 21 June to Johannesburg. Here we will get to finalize the last few items (hopefully), say our goodbyes before setting out to meet the B's on the 2 July at Iringa. We plan to avoid the Bots meat issues by traveling through Zimbabwe. Our route being Jhb, Beit Bridge, Harare, Chirundu, Lusaka, Kapiri Mposhi, Mpika, Mbeya and finally Iringa. Well thats the plan anyway......................... we will try to keep you posted here.
Safari Njema!!!!!!!!!!!!!
